SIDX known issues and work around Andor Technology - Symptoms Even when an Andor camera is working with the software Solis from Andor Technology, SIDX cannot see and control the camera. - Workaround Please make sure that you have Andor SDK 2.78 or later installed on your computer or Solis application from Andor later than verion 4.5. SIDX works Andor SDK 2.78 and later. Starting from 2007, the application Solis from Andor Technology starts shipping with the SDK. DVC Company - Symptoms When you install EDV pdv driver on a system where you have DVC company camera driver installed, you may notice SIDX hanging when SIDX tries to enumerate the camera. - Workaround Open dvcapi.ini file. Normally the file will be in the DVC Company camera driver installation directory (such as c:\Program Files\DVCCo\dvcapi.ini). Insert one line "EDTBoards=0" under [dvcAPI]. The result of dvcapi.ini file would look like: [dvcAPI] EDTBoards=0 .... Then start SIDX. Photometrics/Princeton Instruments - Symptoms The camera drivers from both Photometrics and Princeton Instruments have the same name. If you have the camera from Photometrics and the driver from Princeton Instruments, you may have trouble opening and controlling the camera and vise versa. - Workaround Before we work out a solution, we recommend using either Photometrics or Princeton Instruments camera on one computer not both. It is very important to use the driver from the camera vendor. For example, if you are using a camera purchased from Photometrics, you should use the driver from Photometrics. Please do not install the software from both Photometrics and Princeton Instruments on the same computer. After the camera is properly installed and working, install your copy of SIDX. For using SIDX with Princeton Instruments cameras, PVCAM from Princeton Instruments should be used. Contact Bruxton Corporation (support@bruxton.com) for details.
